The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
I'm not one to go into a show hoping to hear specific songs as it occurred to me sitting in Red Rocks in June of 1994 that it's not what they play, its the way they play it! Since that realization its been easy to tap into that deep pool live experience that I seek, that I think we all seek and accept the experience.
Anyways this is my first post (been lurking for over 20 years) and I just wanted to say I love what all the fans bring to the table here. I also believe that a fan is a fan, no matter when the first experience occurred. There's plenty of Phish at the table for all of us.
Great review, I know this one was tough draw after the past weekend!
See you all in Denver (yes I'm still floating form MPP and I hope you are too).
