Welcome to the 307th edition of Phish.Net's Mystery Jam Monday, the second and second-easiest of January. The winner will receive an MP3 download code courtesy of our friends at LivePhish.com / Nugs.Net. To win, be the first person to identify the song and date of each of the two mystery clips (sorry for not fixing this sooner), which are connected by a theme that needn't be part of the correct answer. Each person gets one guess to start – if no one guesses correctly, I will post a hint on Tuesday around 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, after which each person gets one more guess before I reveal the correct answer on Wednesday, or as soon as necessary. Good luck!
Answer: For the first time in four months and only the third time in the past year, we have back-to-back first time MJM winners. This week, @The_Blob quickly put the smack down on the two-clip MJM, identifying the 12/28/98 "Wolfman's Brother" and the 10/31/98 "Wolfman's Brother." I had a clever hint all ready to go and everything. Let's take MLK Day off and reconvene Tuesday for MJM308, cool?

And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
Also, that 2nd clip reminds me of a groove they play in of the 2nd half of the Worcester Jim.
You may be right. I see no indication from Pete that this is a double jam or a request to state a theme or common bond. I'm less confident on the 2nd 1/2 but i don't have time to check this out at work. Fuck it.
2/17/97 Carini
2nd clip had to have been by far the easiest clip I've ever heard. But that first one totally stumped me.
Bravo!
wolfman's 7/23/2017
Didn't think about 10/31/98 Wolfman's as I never remember that little outro jam which contains this clip.
Guess I have to wait yet another week to try my hand at becoming MJM emeritus...
I hadn't listened to 12/28/98 in 2-3 years till I recently revisited the Carini (-> Jam) -> Wolfie (-> Jam), and I'm so glad I did. Excellent Taste in the first set too (in which there's another unannotated DEG tease ~7:25)...
I was thinking it'd make a ridiculously tough puzzle at some point to have a few of the jams that snuck under everyone's noses forever...
I listened to the Wolfman's on the way to work yesterday and that led to me getting kind of weird in the office all day. Doubled back last night and listened to the whole show. The '98 NYE Run is criminally underrated. Odd since it's a NYE run.
