If you needed a reminder of the heights this band is still capable of reaching it's right there in the second slot of the second set. Twenty four minutes and change of absolute bliss. Hard charging while holding down the groove with two monster peaks before crashing at full speed into Simple. Grateful to have witnessed that. Thank you boys.

Absolute fire...
First Set highlights were the rare Dog Stole Things, a crankin No Men's, a funky Destiny, a Mikes Bombsmas Home, a sentimental and delicate Trey solo on Circus, a Deep, raunchy Steam, a more than welcoming Wedge, Cavern and a rocker in Walls to close out.

Now, the by God second set... an extremely rare Crimes of the Mind... Golden Age, I need to listen back, but a beautifully ripping first part, then dark funkiness and a patient build back to a somewhat major mode and extremely rocking peak. Some beautiful ambience followed and a great, I almost think a true segue, into Simple, but as I mention I need to listen back. Now the Light, I am biased because I absolutely love this song but the jam was deep; I can't describe it in words right now but it put me in a blissful place that I will always remember. And into another one I love, Twenty Years later, just an awesome fucking song. The rest of the songs were played well. 3 more nights of this quality? I don't know if it's possible... I hope

Quite an exciting day for me folks, my first post. After seeing and listening to more phish than a grown man should, I felt the need to write on this one. My take on it- Best show ever! The boys have grown and expanded out of the knarly style of the 90s (Isla Vista to name one) and this show gave a nod to those days. Specifically, it’s our friend the 25-minute Golden Age that melded the best of two eras: The type II jam and the knarly jam. With two peaks, great piano parts, and a unique drum beat in the second half, we all listened and danced with focus and excitement. And it’s the last 5-minutes that has elements of the 90s knarly jam.

What is one to do upon hearing this? Well, I swapped my morning coffee with morning 10/28 Golden Age. As well as, it has become my unit of measure. For instance, it took me five 10/28 Golden Ages to paint my daughter’s room on Saturday.

Since its hard for one killer song to carry a show, lets consider: Overall great song choice throughout both sets; The bust-outs, which includes a rarely played Crimes of the Mind (that they slayed); Several songs jammed out (Simple should be included on the list above); A Squirming Coil ending that is sublime; And a double encore with an Axis end. Best show ever…Who’s with me!?!?!

Alright, so maybe I conclude just about every show is the ‘best ever’. I mean, we’re all jamming and rocking out as a phamily to great music, which is the best ever.

I'm usually a bit harsh on some of the shows of this era - but I really enjoyed this one!

Set I had some nice jamming in No Men, Steam (they could have stretched that ending even more!) and WotC. Great bus tours with Digs stole Destiny and Beauty of my Dreams. I also thought the jam at the end of Home was excellent and surprising!

Set II opened with Crimes of the mind?! Crazy

Golden age was sublime - what a jam! It's one of those jams that literally makes you smile bigger and bigger with each passing segment. Best of all time version (I love Hampton 13 as well though)

Simple > light had plenty of additional and capable jamming

20 years later played a perfect foil as reflective and dark when paired with Blaze On's devil may care optimism.

Coil was the perfect final piece.

Bouncin, bold as love was also a nice empire pairing.

Overall this was a really enjoyable show that found a great way to mix old and no material throughout. Second set seems to capture the era's positivity really nicely with two homages to earlier times bookending a set that reminds us we are in a golden age where things simply get more and more bright and when we reflect on 20(now 30) years of history, all we really need to do is Blaze On and enjoy

really people?? i just looked to see what the band was up to and the 2nd set hasn't started yet, but there's already show 3 ratings?? i shouldn't be able to type this before the show is over and y'all shouldn't be reviewing it before it's over - all for the same reasons.

that being said, "destiny unbound"? i want to know more.

First time flying, first time in Vegas, first show EVER for my girlfriend, and first show of a glorious 4 day run!(Lot of firsts, just no first tube lol). Well what can I say this was an amazing show to kick things off for the Halloween run, fire right off the bat with Martian, and No Man's. Pleased to hear Dogs Stole things, and loved that Destiny Unbound. Limb was great, and well that Steam was steaming hot! Home, which is one of my favorite songs off the new album, had my face melted at the end of it. On to Set II, the rare Crimes of the Mind to start things off was just awesome. then came the biggie, the golden of Golden Ages, pure energy off that one! Kick ass Blaze on and one of my fav's, Coil at the end, with a Bounce, Bold as Love encore, I was grinning from ear to ear!

This is the first show in the amazing 4 night 2016 Halloween run... one of the best runs I've heard from Phish.

This show is pure magic and stellar, end-to-end. There is virtually no filler and the jams are top notch, particularly the Golden Age. And this is honestly the best first set I've heard from Phish in ages!

Love, love, love this run!

Fantastic start to what is easily the best run of 2016 and one of the most consistent multi-night stands in all of 3.0 Phish.

Martian is great but short, sounded like they would jam it for a second. A few 97-era gems thrown in early, the show really kicked in when Trey wailed the end solo on "Home". Fabulous Steam, likely one of the better versions ever played, certainly in this unusual and unexpected slot, anchored the set and foretold of the greatness to come.

Then came "The Golden Age". Afterwards I mentioned to the folks I was hanging with that I love it when Phish does a jam so singular, so great, that by "Vegas Golden Age" you KNOW someone is talking about this version. It IS that good, all the praise is very warranted. For sure the jam of the year, and a 10 best of 3.0 moment. Personally, it was my best moment of 3.0. But with 75-100 relistens I can confidently say this belongs with the Dicks 12 Light, Randalls CDT, Atlanta15 Tweezer, Tweezerpants, Tahoe Tweezer and the other greatest of 3.0 moments. Very likely the best version of this beloved cover Phish has ever played. This Golden Age is better than entire shows by itself. It is as we say "on the level". #winning will never regret going to this run, was going to do just the last two but chose to solo 10-28 and 10-29 instead of missing 2/4, great decision!!

This is a great show, including a 25-min+ Golden Age. I was thrilled by the several bustouts or near-bustouts (doesn't seem like they play Bold as Love much anymore, but apparently they did recently enough for it not to be noted in the official setlist with a Last Time Played.) Beauty of My Dreams in particular is a song that I've had a strong hankerin' for for quite some time. Home actually got a bit of a jam, with some fiery fretwork from Trey such as we often rely on to judge the status of a jam. Trey's doing a different type of fiery fretwork at this point in Phishtory, though, which is why I well appreciate the length of the Golden Age, while not necessarily its content so much. I think maybe Phish just doesn't want to go out as often anymore, which is fine, but even the Type-I jams--let's say just so far this tour--have been kind of lacking in a certain freewheeling anything-is-possible feeling that we got near-nightly in days gone by. But this isn't meant to be a negative review, and I rated the show 4/5 stars. There was a striking cohesion to both sets' energies and song choices, and it really is a strong show. I'm thankful that we're getting big jams still, and they are really the main reason I still omnivorously consume live Phish recordings, but I want the band to be happy more than I care about my own needs from the band, because for me, I have plenty of other music to listen to, and even an occasional revelatory jam outweighs my own personal contributions to the music, which are pretty much nothing a. since I don't go to shows anymore and b. because even if you're there, Phish has made a cottage industry out of subverting expectations, generally to life-affirming results. I want Phish to do what Phish wants to do, even if it is in contrast to what I would selfishly gain from my own impossible, prospective dictation of what they could do if they wanted me to consider every show a smashing success. I do note the irony, though, that at one time, and sustained over a period of years, I was listening uncritically to my own benefit, and perhaps it's my own jadedness that's precluding my absolute enjoyment of every show. The net's unbreakable so don't worry is I guess my thesis here.

Incredible Golden Age Jam for the ages. They took a similiar theme to it from the amazing Alpharetta Simple Jam and then took it to the next level.

First set was stellar...the Home Jam could have closed the set...Light felt a little flat to me but that was also maybe because of its dark deep treatment.

Danced as hard as I have ever had during Golden Age....

Monster start to the run, both literally and figuratively

Hey, it's a Phish show and we're in Vegas. Yay! NMINML and Golden Age were peak, band is playing incredibly well, but this show is a 4 compared to the 5 last night. Not to chisel diamonds or anything, but the playing generally (exceptions noted) seemed more relaxed the second night. My, how times have changed: shows up on YouTube infrastructure by the time we walked back to the room.

I thought the first set was something that I would give up my left arm to hear in 94-95. The destiny and wedge were played on point and tight. Something I had chased at that time. First set 5 stars.
Second set was just as fun and locked in. I did think the simple had bass/guitar issues as far as not as locked in. 4.7 out of 5 second set. I think the crowd was into it mostly. Only losing focus to talk during home which did keep going up and up. And golden age. Crowd gets a solid 4.1. I would grade harder but there's a lot of people at these shows. I think most of the star treatment and reviews here are based on the crowds at the show. Overall though I'm with the band on 10/28 4.899 out of 5 throwing out the crowd number

Great show from the couch and much fun on the replay! I do have to say I am quite surprised by its current high rating however. Just my two cents. Maybe it's a case of the ol' "you had to be there", but based solely on music, tightness, xfactors, I can think of several shows that should be higher rated than this on .net

This was a fun show, lots of phendly pholks and a couple of openers that I felt a compulsion to dance to. 'Destiny Unboind' had a nice danceble jam; 'Walls' was pro forma compared to some others on this tour. Good playing, but missing that X factor that turns 'Light' into a launchpad instead of a staid jam by the clock. Thought I heard a 2001 tease in Golden Age, but who knows. A warm up show, no extended organic improv, but well-played. Heck, we were in a Phish show in Vegas! Go whine all the way home.
